Linux PC References

  • DVB & ATSC 1.0: DVB/T/T2/S/S2/C and ATSC 1.0 builds with file-based transport stream input. TV UI reference application with support for scanning, service selection, guide data, subtitle and closed-caption rendering. FFMPEG back-end for service playback.
  • DVB–NIP: Extension to the DVB desktop build which can identify services from NIP broadcast files (MPE and GSE). Services can be selected from the TV UI application and the corresponding service data will be extracted from the incoming stream/file and cached making them available via a webserver. A standard desktop or web-based player can be used to play the selected service.
  • ATSC3.0: The ATSC 3.0 stack builds as a headless gateway stack for a Linux PC. Data input can be via a USB tuner or via PCAP files. The stack parses the data and makes the service information and related AV data available via a web server. A web-based player or Android App can then be used to view the service information and playback selected services.

Reference Integration

Embedded Linux environments vary widely, making it difficult to offer a single, standard reference integration in the way Android or RDK solutions allow. However, several of our core broadcast stacks can be built on a common Linux desktop platform. This gives manufacturers a fast, flexible environment for evaluation, debugging, and rapid feature development before moving to full device integration.

How quickly can I get started once I join?

Once your membership is confirmed and onboarding is complete, you’ll receive immediate access to the full DTVKit source code repository and documentation. Members are usually up and running within a few days.

How is the software licensed?
